As of August 29th, 2010…

Ethan:

-is pooping fairly regularly on the potty, after only 3 months of pleading, bribing, and crying (us, not him). He has accidents still, but he’s doing MUCH better than just two weeks ago.

-goes to church with me and is - surprisingly - SO good. He does his set of six puzzles, colors, does stickers, and only whispers. I actually enjoy taking him, and I’m proud of his good behavior.

-has taken to giving “Eleanor monkey” rides in a stroller. When Eleanor monkey makes an appearance, the real Eleanor becomes “Derek baby.”

-webs other children when we go to the park. Unfortunately, most kids do not know he’s pretending to be Spiderman, which can make for some strange looks.

-loves to “play” with Eleanor, but usually his playing entails calling her a pillow and putting his head down on her.

-says, “Shooooot” in the funniest/cutest way when things go wrong for him, usually when he bangs into something. This morning, he said it in church when he fell backwards from the kneeler. I’m just glad it’s not the alternative, which I imagine he’s heard from time to time.

Eleanor:

-growls. She has discovered her low, guttural voice, and it can be quite entertaining.

-is eating both fruits and veggies. She loves them all! She wasn’t great at eating her rice cereal or oatmeal on its own, but now that we’ve added food, she eats so well.

-still won’t take a bottle. Not a huge deal, but it will make getting to the half marathon interesting. The race starts at 7 am, so I’m thinking I may have to wake her up early and nurse her and then let her go back to bed and Will can feed her real food when she wakes up. Ugh.

-is now six months old! Her next appointment is Tuesday, so I’ll post her latest stats after that.

-does a mean crunch. When you put her down on the ground, she always lifts her head and legs up at the same time, which is a pretty difficult move. She will have abs of steel soon, just like her mom. ;)

-is so close to sitting up on her own, which will be nice. We’re practicing daily.

-loves her big brother, even though he takes away her toys.
Before dinner on my 30th.
My surprise party - very small, and rather like a 5 year old party, but adorable and fun.

Not a great family pic, but I love Eleanor's face in this one (and the fact that Matthew wandered in).
Incredible princess cake display for the triplet's first birthday. Laura's mom made it all, and there were 4 different kinds of layer cake. Delicious and gorgeous!
Eleanor chillin' at the party.
Happy Birthday Elizabeth, Kate, and Anna!

I have this picture of Ethan, too.
She looked so cute sitting in her booster at the end of the table.
Here's her pilates move.
Rare tummy time - she hates it!
Ethan with Eleanor monkey.
She can't wait to get her license.
We had the triplets over for a playdate this week.
Kate and Anna with Elizabeth and Eleanor in the background. Eleanor weighs more than these one year olds!
Water fight post haircut.
My happy girl.
